February Challenge:
#14 Shadows and peace; color
Medium: Chalk pastel on suede board
Size 8x10
This piece is of the sunset through the airplane window and the color reflection on to the seat. This piece really stretch me as an artist because I have never created a piece using chalk pastel before and as it turns out I really like this medium. This photo is also very peaceful because the colors of the sky are very vibrant, while at the same time being soft.

February Challenge:
#12 Family member; texture
Medium: Photo
This singular is a mash up of to photos. One photo of my mom's hair, and the other of my sister's hair. I edited these two photos so that my mom's hair fades/changes into my sister's hair. This piece represents the the fade/change into the new generation and how physical traits can be both similar and different from mother to daughter. This piece also amplifies the texture of hair.

February Challenge:
#9 Needs, creative lighting; photo
Medium: Photo
Without the sun, human life would not be possible. We need the sun in order to survive. We "consume" the sun not just from our daily vitamin D, but we also use it as a natural energy source. I really like this photo because it really depicts the idea of human's need for the sun. I also like how the rays spread out across the shadowy figure.

Pop of Wild
Medium: Photo and construction paper
Size: 5.5x7.5
This piece will be added to my concentration. I like the use of shapes that outline my face and show contrast with the original of the photo. The first image deals with the contrast of human and animal and the second image expresses color and shades. I also included the phrase "pop of wild" which unifies the pop of color in the second image with the first and the wild side in the first image with the second.

February Challenge:
#8 Something you love; choice
Medium: Photo
I love camping and this photo really shows how even the smallest things, such as warming your dirty socks by the fire, can put a smile on my face. I really like this photo because the fire looks very fluid and bright, which contrasts with the dark and sharp socks in the right corner.

February Challenge:
#6 Anger
Medium: Math homework
Size: About 6x9
One thing that really angers me is homework. Today kids go to school for 7.5 hours, however that doesn't account for homework time. SCHOOL WORK NEVER STOPS! I really enjoy this piece because the sharp edges and shapes that the math homework has been manipulated into and how is replicates how my mind see math, like a clutter.

February Challenge:
#3 Macro; paint
Medium: Paint pen on photo
Size: 7x7
I really like this piece because it emphasizes the organic shapes and the details hidden in a dollar bill and its sign. #2 Breakfast; Watercolor
Medium: Coffee on watercolor paper

When I heard the theme for this piece was breakfast I instantly thought about one of the most popular breakfast item, coffee. Size: 12x12
This piece is another piece I will add to my concentration. I really like the geometric shapes of the buildings in the background and how they mimic the structure of the diamonds. I added in the pop of blue and made the diamonds upside down to add a twist to my work of art.

February Challenge:
#1 New; Colored Pencil
Medium: colored pencil on ACT practice test
Size: 8.5 x 10
This piece expresses the flaws of standardized test and how we are in need of new ways of testing. This piece is drawn on the science section of the ACT, however the landscape expressing the real natural world is shown through the ripped up and exploded standardized test. This new idea of real life experiences being more valuable than a number from a test is expressed though this work of art.
